Students from the Bachelor's and Master's programmes at HDK-Valand Campus Steneby exhibit the graduation projects at Bohusläns museum in Uddevalla.

”S.O.U.P. (Showcasing Odd Unfiltered Perceptions) presents 24 degree projects which in various ways explore the potential of materials to communicate and convey meaning in a time marked by climate crisis, alienation and digitalisation.  

The exhibition title is both an acronym and a playful metaphor for the exhibition as a whole. You are invited to explore a simmering and evolving meal where craft practices, materials, and design methods are the main ingredients. Here, themes such as human-nature relations, care of everyday objects, the essence of memory and the power of collective making can be found. The exhibition provides a space for reflection, challenges our perceptions and open up new possibilities for being— perhaps as another creature, material or human. The works reveal a longing to extend beyond the traditional gallery space, to activate objects in performances and to move effortlessly between materials and techniques.  

Across all the works, the act of making emerges as a shared foundation—making that transforms both us and the world around us – with each hammer’s strike, needle’s stitch and chisel’s joint.”
