Accessibility

Bohusläns Museum shall be accessible to everyone and therefore we are working to increase access to the exhibitions, activities and collections. It explains the possibilities and limitations that may exist when you visit us. The reception staff will gladly help you if you have any questions during your visit

Visitors with disabilities

  • The museum disabled parking is available in front of the museum, directly to the left of the entrance
  • The entrance has an automatic door opener
  • Disabled toilets adjacent to the entrance hall, door width 90 cm.
  • There is lift access to the upper floor.
  • There is a wheelchair to borrow if you have difficulty walking. Please contact the reception staff.
  • All stairs are fitted with color markings on the top and bottom steps.
  • All our exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are designed so that you can get around by wheelchair and walker.

Visitors with allergies

  • We strive to avoid allergenic materials in our exhibitions and interiors. Apart from the toilets, are not scented cleaning chemicals.

Smells and dust

  • We have no allergenic plants inside the museum. In connection with the production of new exhibitions, there will occasionally be dust and strong odors. If you are unsure contact us before your visit.

Lactose and gluten intolerance and milk protein allergy

  • The restaurant and café Kajkanten can offer alternatives that are free of lactose, gluten or milk protein.

Nut allergy

  • The restaurant and café Kajkanten can not guarantee that traces of nuts is not present in the supply. Staff at Kajkanten help you if you have any questions.

Fur Allergies

  • No pets may be brought into the museum with the exception of guide dogs.

Visitors with visual impairment

  • Some of our exhibitions can be seen as dark. This is a necessity when several of the objects can not be exposed to strong light.

Audio Guides

  • Currently no audio guides to the exhibitions.

Visitors with hearing loss

  • Hearing loop are installed in premises where there are program activities such as the Auditorium, Stove room and on the shelf. In other areas, it may be supplemented with mobile hearing loop, if necessary.

Visitors with pushchairs

  • The entrance has an automatic door opener
  • Elevator available to the first floor and shelf
  • All our exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are designed so that you can get around with a pram. The museum is not responsible for parked strollers.
  • The restaurant and cafe Kajkanten have no baby food for smaller children for sale but are happy to warm jars.
  • Changing tables are available on the main floor and upstairs.
