Interested in painting? This summer, join our creative workshop for a session in oil, aquarell and acrylic painting, led in mainly English. Suits everyone from around 7 years old and more, with an urge to paint!

The workshops are inspired by the Masters’ works exhibited at
the Johnssonhallen and will be focused on exploring the secrets of
the painters and trying out their methods with acrylic, aquarelle and
oil paint. At the same time we will be using different unusual items,
such as sand or strange techniques like scratching the surface to
achieve the feeling of layers that go deep into the painting.
Some of the techniques I will show will be Alla prima,
Chiaroscuro, Impasto, Glazing,… The aim will be to show how easy
is to paint in every medium just by applying simple methods and
the participants will feel more confident in their ability to paint and
talk about art. Furthermore I hope the workshops will spark a
passion for painting in as many people as possible.
”My name is Boris Ivanov and I am an artist who works mainly
in the fields of Fine art and Sculpture. Recently I graduated from
the Bachelor program in Metal Art in HDK-Valand where I was
exploring the possibilities of combining metal sculptures and
fine art elements. At the same time I find my inspiration in
studying the Old masters and exploring various archaeological
finds, all the while incorporating them in my practise. This
approach helps me to learn new techniques and paint in my
own style but my utmost passion is to achieve translation of
three-dimensional sculptural qualities onto my two-dimensional
canvases.”
