Voices from the war – life in the shadow of Karl XII

In the beginning of the 18th century
the Great Northern War drew even closer to Bohuslän.
Anxiety and fear increased in Uddevalla.
The war caused plenty of deaths, and was also expensive.
It brought disease, famine and misery.
Families and friends who ended up on different sides
of the new border to Norway
suddenly should consider each other as enemies.
Everyday life got more and more difficult.
Meet the people whose voices are seldom heard and
take part of their lives in the shadow of the war.
See new sides of Karl XII and how the image of the king
has been used and modified throughout the years.
Discover a previously untold story.
